The SNSWR stretches from the Southern Highlands to the Victorian border, and encompasses some of Australia's best fibre growing areas. SNSWR is one of the largest alpaca regions in Australia. The region provides top quality genetics and a healthy supply of breeding stock, both huacaya and suri. Advice and assistance is available to all those considering entering this exciting and vibrant livestock and fleece industry.

The alpaca industry recognises its strength is – the endearing nature of its animals. The public appeal of alpacas has seen them taking pride of place at many shows, where traditional livestock numbers have spent the past 10 years in decline alpacas now are major show attractions.

This year there will be an Alpaca Nursery, ‘Name the Cria’ competition and felting workshops where the participants get to take a felted article home.
There will also be information sessions on animal husbandry and craft held over the weekend. For more information on these activities see the Programme.
